We just upgraded to Patch 5 last night and experiencing issues with Dragon. Whenever we try to dictate in a note the EMR crashes. Did anyone else experience this?
What version/type of dragon do you use? We have about 1/2 of our 85 prividers that use Dragon CC Speak netrwork edition or cloud. Our providers couldn't survive without it.
We are on cps12.0.11 patch 4
this occurred with our dragon. CPS.dll immediately crashes on initiation of dictation
We are upgrading to patch 6a later today.
Our app crashing has not been limited to dragon. Very severe problems here since 12/14/2015 when we upgraded to SP 11

We are on CEMR 9.8.11 as well and experienced this same issue when we upgraded to Patch 5 several weeks ago. We found EMR crashed when Dragon was used in any template. We had to uninstall the patch and revert back during the lunch break.
After being on the phone with GE for hours, it was determined the issue was with our Dragon settings. They proposed to change the settings in Dragon.
Why does GE let customers proceed with patches that break? We are waiting for Patch 6 and will be sure to test with Dragon.
to ewilliams what settings did they tell you to change? We are kind of in a bind now.
Try this. We had same issue and it fixed it.
If this is happening, please close Dragon and navigate to
C:\ProgramData\Nuance\NaturallySpeaking12
or
C:\ProgramData\Nuance\NaturallySpeaking11
(depending on which version of Dragon you are running)
Locate nsapp.ini and open
Use Ctrl+F to search for EmrTer (shown below)
Change the value of this entry to -1
Save
Relaunch Dragon and test.
This change will need to be made on every machine where Dragon is installed and you are experiencing the issue.
I believe the same instructions listed above from crendon. We decided not to make those changes, however, in case this change would affect our inpatient users as well. We were in a bind too at that time and just decided to uninstall the patch.
This setting fixed it for us - but CPS 12.0.10 Patch 4.

We just upgraded to patch 6A (for CPS 12.0.11) and whenever a provider hit the Dragon record button when trying to dictate into a Letter CPS crashed immediately.
We are on Dragon DME2.
I update the nsapp.ini file and changed the EmrTerClass=9 to EmrTerClass=-1 and this stopped the CPS crashes.
Thanks Carol for posting this!!! You saved me a lot of time and trouble.
Mike
P.s. Do you have any idea why this change helps?
