Hi everyone,
I am trying to remove providers in EMR that are not longer with us and trying to add new providers in there space. Could someone walk me through this process? Thank you

Hello.
Unsure why you want to remove - as there may be many unforeseen consequences. First being - an accurate records of the provider who treated the patient as part of a medical and legal record.
Would suggest that you inactivate the users - after making sure desktops are clear (and perhaps other steps).
In addition to what Joe said (do not delete/remove users from CPS--inactivate them), part of it will depend on if you're set up with AD authentication or CPS authentication.
Generally, if you open CPS and hit the F1 key or click on help, you can search for "users" and get a lot of topics on adding users, security rights, etc. You should become familiar with the various aspects of user and group management along with security management of the system. You probably don't want to add a new check-in desk user with permissions to write prescriptions or administer the system, for example.

plus if a provider is deleted from the system it can cause issues with billing.
You cannot remove an existing provider because their are many records tied to that account. I am pretty sure the system will not allow you to remove someone with records attached. (The same is true for insurance companies, users, etc.)
You need to inactivate that provider before you will be able to create a new provider. You will still be able to work claims for the inactivated provider if there are outstanding visits in the system.
If you have inactivated a provider and still cannot create a new provider, you should check the number of active providers against the number of licenses you have. You might need to purchase additional licensing depending on your licensing model.
