Hi everyone,
Trying to get some feedback.
Being that scheduling templates modifying and creating take quite a bit of steps, who is responsible for these at your facility?
Does one point person create them? Do doctors have access to their own? Do office managers have access to them?
What risks are involved with letting all of the above have rights?
Thank you! Happy Labor Day Weekend.
Rebecca
HI Rebecca,
In my experience, schedule templates are usually done by either the office manager or the department manager (with input from MD's or staff). I would strongly recommend to lock down security on the schedule templates because there are many time-consuming mistakes that can be made.
I have found that many offices that have been on Centricity for years need to clean up the schedule templates because there are many duplicates and the existing ones can be improved. There are many opportunities to streamline the template process. It is a good idea to provide some training to a few users who are going to maintain the templates. There are so many features in the templates that are missed during your initial training. For example, the use of allocated appointment types, financial class limits, appointment type notes, etc. Also, copying existing templates and keeping the intervals consistent.
Hope this helps. Feel free to contact me if you have any questions about the templates. [email protected]
Angela,
Thank you. I appreciate your insight. After speaking to numerous other professionals, the consensus is the same. Schedule templates really do need to be delegated to a handful of users. Giving access to ten-twelve office managers really may set us up for a disaster.
