Good afternoon, I received a question from our administrator about the payment from the HHS provider relief fund. She is having trouble reconciling the amount that HHS says the payment was calculated from so she was wondering if anyone else on CPS is any issues reconciling theirs. Here is her explanation:
This payment was part of CAREs Act for Covid19. It is HHS provider relief fund. Most providers did not know it existed until it was deposited into their account last Thursday. It is based off of 2019 MC payments. Calculates to approx 1/16 of total 2019 MC payments. It is different from the CMS Accelerated Advance Payment which is also part of CAREs Act. But the CMS AAP will be recouped. The HHS Provider Relief fund will be considered a grant if we agree to the terms and conditions that should be out this week.
is this the 30 billion to medicare providers that just randomly announced last week?
after the announcement i couldn't find any info about it, but haven't looked... i figure it would be weeks to get it.
I think they got so much money in that 2 trillion that was supposed to go right away they are just throwing it into random checking accounts... lol.
you have probably seen, this only took a quick google... it is actually slightly less than 1/16...
Yes, it's supposed to be 1/16th of what was paid, the problem is the amount that they based the payment on is different from what we show for the same dates. We are a physician owned clinic so she is needing to allocate the money by provider but there is a big difference in the amount they say they based it on and the amount we are showing based on the Insurance Reimbursement report in CPS.
