Does anyone know a fix to get "HIPAA Approved" contacts to show in a data display in VFE from registration?
When I choose PATIENT.CONTACTS as a data display is only shows contacts listed as PCP, Pharmacy but doesn't show Personal Contacts so I cannot view those in EMR that are listed as HIPAA approved contacts.
Has anyone found a fix or a work around? TIA for any help. Have a great day.

We had the same issue and our resolution was to create a HIPAA "Form" within the EMR that writes to observation terms - we then developed a flowsheet view which is viewed in our phone note(and any other form we choose).
We tried to make the HIPAA form as easy to complete as possible and for those patient's who complete their forms via the patient portal, the obs terms are already populated so no need for staff to manually enter the information in the chart.

If you are interested, I can pull all contact information directly from the database. The technique is complicated, but delighted to share it with you. I presented this general approach in Palm Springs CHUG conference.
I am currently working on pulling the patients contact list into a form with check boxes so they can map to an obs term and be able to select what referring providers they want in a letter. Would this be the same thing you are speaking about being able to do?
