We're on EMR 9.8.6 and wondering if anyone has had to go back and update codes on patient charts to ICD-10? Does the process have to be manual or are there better options?
We put the Office Visit SNOMED-CT code on our visits. Some we did manually but then we used a script GE had provided to directly enter them in the Orders table.
Why would you be putting ICD 10 codes on past visits when ICD 10 isn't valid yet?
Sorry for the delay, lkeith, the ICD10 codes that GE matched with ICD 9 codes have updated previous charts. For instance, I just looked at an inactive patient in the cEMR and found ICD10 codes there for problems that only existed in 2002. That's on the problem table, not the orders table. I guess my question is then, will we need to have those updated for when ICD10 is valid and required? Hopefully that makes sense.
