Practice Management Administration and Implementation Course
Description: This course focuses on the Administration module of Centricity® CPS, specific to the Practice Management (business/financial) configuration. The course will provide you with practical instruction on setting up Administration Tables and Lists using the CPS Demo Database. During the course, you will also focus on implementation strategies and best practices, including tools and techniques on process mapping, blended learning, and implementation design to promote and monitor end user adoption. The course uses a variety of educational methods including presentation, demonstration and interactive participation.

• Learner should be proficient & knowledgeable of the Admin module’s List Editor and Edit Menu related to the Practice Management (business/financial) side of CPS.

Interface Setup & Management for Centricity EMR
Description: This class uses lecture, discussion, demonstrations and computer lab work to show you how to setup and manage interfaces with Centricity EMR & Centricity Practice Solutions EMR. During this two day workshop students will set up and manage four interfaces and build and modify the cross reference files.
Prerequisites: Students should have at least three to six months experience working with Centricity EMR. Proficiency with Microsoft Windows. Some database/interface experience is recommended.
Learning objectives:
• Understand the HL7 specification
• Set up and manage demographics & appointment interfaces
• Set up and manage notes and lab interfaces
• Become familiar with laboratory requirements
• Understand the terms and concepts for productive conversation with other interface partners.

MEL - Medicalogic Expression Language
Description: The MEL Programming workshop uses lecture, discussion, demonstration, and computer lab work to help students learn basic programming concepts as they relate to MedicaLogic Expression Language (MEL), and how to write intermediate MEL functions. This workshop will concentrate on composing clinically relevant MEL expressions and is aimed at intermediate users who would like assistance with starting to write their own MEL.
Pre-Requisites: Users should have in-depth knowledge of Centricity® EMR and Encounter Form Editor software, and should be able to write or edit basic MEL expressions, such as text translations for form components. Proficiency with Microsoft Windows.
Learning Objectives:
• Learn to write and apply basic MEL expressions.
• Create narrative translations for form components.
• Understand how and when function arguments are used.
• Use predefined functions, including Val, Str, Sub, Size, and Match.
• Create your own functions using arrays and looping.
