We use Ideal Image to import our documents into Centricity EMR and PM.
We are getting some consistent lag during:
1. attachement of a file then pickup (DTS)
2. Users (Medical Records Department) attaching inbound scans and charts in large quantities
I believe this stems from the size of my file structure.
I have 2003r2 (old sql server) Server hosting just the files on it. While watching it there is no spike/consumption of resources. I have recently had to update .DLL file for Ideal Image that allows longer file names due to the amount of scanned files we have.
I am curious does anyone have input into performance gains for this, 2008r2 server? 2012? CIFS Share?
Things to note:
1. 470 GB image store
2. Win2k3r2, sp2, 4gb RAM, 4x E5-2650,
3. Fastest Spindle (10k RW IOPS)
4. 10gb server network between client(thin) and file server
