The Immunization HTML form does not appear to allow for entry of new vaccine products, and I'm not sure if I can wait for an update. (We are currently on CPS12 SP8 and waiting for the SP9 upgrade.) I am trying to add Gardasil 9 (HPV) and Trumenba (Meningococcal B). I am comfortable with the Chart>Immunization Custom Lists process. However, when I try to add a new vaccine, I can only choose from the given list. The new products and corresponding NDC numbers are not available. If I try to enter manually, I would need to know the DDID and CVX. Does anyone know where I can find that information -OR- another way to add these new vaccines to the form?
THANK YOU!!!!!!!
You can query the MEDINFO table (Oracle) to get information about medications. MEDS_NEW("delimited") also gives a lot of info, including DDID and NDC about meds you add to an update (see the help for the fields).
One thing that I am a little confused about, kind of along the same lines, say I have an NDC# that isn't loaded. I go in and goggle the NDC# and what I find alot is where the NDC # that is in question. For example, 58160-825-43, when I goggle this# it brings up 58160-825-52 Havrix.

It looks to me like 58160-825-52 is for a 10 syringe carton, but 58160-825-43 is for the individual .5 ml syringe. Would the DDID and CVX be different in this case?
Thanks for any insight anyone can give!
Linda
Your DDID and CVX would be the same. Typically, an NDC is broken down as follows
Manufacturer-Drug-presentation
So the first two segments of the NDC's you listed would be the same (same mfr/same drug). The last part is dependent on how you purchase the product. We bill for the NDC number listed on the actual individual vial or syringe. Those often end in 01.
I have the same problem with the HTML form. I need to add Gardasil 9 and send immunizations to the state registry. I added Gardasil 9 with the CVX code and DDID number from the packing list to CPS 12.08. But..... I receive error messages.
Called GE and they told me that Gardasil 9 will be added to a knowledgebase release. I have the latest knowledgebase installed. (June 2015) It is disheartening as this vaccine was approved late last year. The GE support person could not tell which Knowledgebase the update is scheduled to be included in either.
I don't understand why GE would give us a tool to control our vaccines, but not actually let us control our vaccines. We are a VFC FQHC Provider, and manage over 1 million $$ of vaccines a year. We are in Jeopardy of loosing our VFC status with the state because GE CPS does not send the correct information over their recommended "Qvera" interface to the state registry.
Pretty Frustrated in Illinois. So if anyone has a suggestion, I'm all ears and thanks for letting me vent.
Just to vent a bit - while I am not new to Centricity by any means, I have to say that the HTML form feels like we are taking about 20 steps backwards. Editing is frustrating as it is very difficult to enter in the exact information that you may need and then, because it does not use nor can it even be mapped to obs terms, it renders protocols completely useless.
Frustrating in the extreme.
