Over the years (since 2005) our staff have been scanning images (ID's, Insurance cards) into the paperclip in PM and subsequently CPS after upgrading. The patientprofileattachment table is now over 50GB. Just curious what other clinics are doing for workflow.
1) Have you changed your workflow to use Kryptiq Document Management (formerly Docutrak) or other program?
2) Have you exported your images using any tools to reduce your database size?
We have slowed the growth by controlling optimal DPI and other scan settings, but still the damage is done. Backups take a long time along with deploying test servers. Another anoying thing is scanning a double sided card saves the image as a multipage TIFF (uncompressed) instead of combining front and rear sides into the same image as a JPG.
Thank you,

Jake,
We had this same problem at a clinic I worked at in the past.
We were able to export the paperclip images out using a tool our VAR gave us. I don't remember a lot about the process, but if I remember correctly it exported out to folders and then we had to manually index them into Document Management.
The end result was a much smaller database and much faster backups!
Check with your VAR, if I'm not mistaken, we have the same one.
