Anyone else frustrated with the timing of the KB releases and the expiration of interaction checking?
Or am i just lazy?
I don't know what is more frustrating, doing these monthly or hearing providers complain that a new medication isn't showing yet because the KBs were done quarterly.
I do wish that the urgent flags I get every day, warning me about expiration, would not start two weeks before availability of the next KB release.
Agreed!!!
yeah i would open a case, but don't want to waste 30 minutes talking to someone that doesn't know what a kb update is.
needless to say frustration is out there, this is one of the dumbest update processes i have seen.
in other news got a patient that brought a visit summary/TOC document from an EPIC system that was awesome.
As anxious as GE is to put CPS in the cloud, they should make the KB portion of the product cloud based before doing anything else. It would save admins the headache of doing the kb updates and the possibility of having issues with said kbs which you possibly have to live with until the next kb. It would also be up to date for more than a few days a month.

I've spoke with GE about this before. There is something about the regulations making them expire monthly but the switch to no more incrementals isn't one I like. It used to be I only needed to tightly schedule one downtime every quarter and my regular monthly downtime could move to suit my staffs weekend availability. The server still got windows updates every month but I didn't have to lock it to right after the update was released but before the date expires.
They should just make the medication lookup list a web service, like the problem lookup list.
Problem solved.
Why the down vote? I can not understand why this would be a bad idea??? I would love to not have to deal with this and the information would be much more timely and never expire if it were in the cloud.
Anyone know where the March KB update is? I can't seem to find it
I see the download available for CPS on the new difficult to use salesforce based portal. but don't see any for EMR old portal or new.
let me know if you find it.
nevermind, I figured out how to switch between CPS and EMR on the new portal and the EMR version is on the new portal as well.
Not sure they will be adding them to the old engage site anymore.....
lol, don't worry about having a hard time finding it.... i am having to login back here to use my link to find it.... i went direct to the "digital" portal and tried to find and now i can't. people using salesforce.com for their support portal need to retire their CIO.
oh i found it again.. it is under "community" that makes complete sense. lol
