We have been asked to scan in a document that is 2500 pages long. Does anyone have any guidelines on just how large a document can be scanned into Kryptiq at one time? I am also afraid that if someone tried to open a document this large or even 100 pages - that it might crash the system.
I would appreciate any advise. Thank you Peg
We use Scandall Pro with VRS. The VRS part allows us to scan at 300 dpi and keep the size small. There is document from GE called "Managing Interfaces with Centricity Practice Solution" which has everything you need to know about their HL7 interface. It is 818 pages in size and only 3.6MB (tiny). If it were 3X the size you would only be looking at around 11MB total, which would not be ideal if all of your scanned documents were that size but I have opened larger sized pdf files which were scanned improperly. It will take a few seconds longer to open but you would be OK if your dpi scanning settings were low enough. We use 300dpi but you could go lower if you wanted to. Experiment on the scan before you import. I would say that if you are less than 10MB you should be OK for a one time deal.
