We have lab results interfaced using EMR-Link with 3 separate labs, Internal, Quest and Labcorp. Many of the labs that come in have errors on them about unit conversion. The majority are from our internal lab but quite a few are also from Quest/Labcorp. I would like to get these fixed and cleaned up as the results being sent via CCDA are including the units in the value instead of separating the value from the units like it should. With the values not being separated from units, I am having to manipulate the CCDA before it gets sent out to a registry.
Below is an example of the text I see in many lab results. What is the best way to fix this issue?
The following lab values were dispersed to the flowsheet
with no units conversion:
WBC, 7.3 X10^3/UL, (F) expected units: 10*3/mm3
RBC, 5.22 X10^6/UL, (F) expected units: 10*6/mm3
PLT, 331 X10^3/UL, (F) expected units: 10*3/mm3
1 uL= 1 cu mm (or mm3 in the above example), so you actually have the same units there. If I were receiving that, I think I might just create a translation to make it match what CPS expects to receive. We use Mirth, so I would do it there. There's probably a way with Linklogic cross reference files I'd guess.
There is a document describing how to add conversion into the existing conversion table.
i just sent it to your email.
Can you please forward me the document as well? My email is [email protected]. Thank you.
done
Thank you so much for this file. This is exactly what I was looking for.
Mirth was going to be the path I took if I could not find a way to do it within LL. It looks like it will be fairly easy to do in LL. I am glad because we use Qvera in production (I don't have more licenses right now) and I only have Mirth on a test box (my workstation) and I would have to deploy a new server to put it in prod.
Could I get this document too please? david dot shower at logical-innovations dot com
Could you please send it to me as well. Thank you.
