When a clinical list is updated in a patient’s chart and the “Sign clinical list changes” check box is not selected, the system will display a blue lock pad when the document is placed on hold and routed to a user’s desktop. If you were to view the user’s desktop that the update was routed to, you will see the blue lock pad does not appear on that specific user’s desktop. I’m assuming the blue lock pad is not on the desktop because this will allow the user to open the document from their desktop and make any necessary changes and sign the document. Is that correct? Also, if a user goes into a chart that has a blue lock pad displaying, the user can open the document from the chart, make the necessary changes and sign off on the document. Is that correct as well?
correct on both. you just wouldn't be able to start a new update since there are unsigned cliincal list updates.
