I am looking for some advice. Our current workflow for our reminders is for our nurses to send reminders to themselves to sent out reminder letters to the patients that are due for labs. All of our patients are in some kind of lab protocol and of course not due at the same time. What my nurses due now, is to search for the patient and go to Print > Letters> and then choose the letter they want to print - they will frequently preview it and customize it, then either print it or save it to a pdf for sending via secure message..
My question is - in order to count for MU - does it HAVE to go through the inquiry? To me, it looks like it gets printed from the same place (I have created an "actionable reminder" folder in letter templates of administration section - in my brain, it should be essentially the same logging of information.... Has anyone tried this or knows this either does or doesn't work??
Thanks!
Your current process should be fine, if you read the GE user guide, under workflows it supports sending reminders through inquiries and letter templates. The thing that trips us up is the Denominator requirements : count 1 for every patient who has had 2 or more visits with the EP in the 24 months prior to the reporting period. This may be the reason patients are not showing up on the report.
Hope that helps,
