We recently upgraded to CPS 12.2.2 and with the new RX Renewals module the patient matching is now automatically filtered to the providers desktops rather than working the errors in Linklogic. While at CHUG in New Orleans I attended a session (Centricity Next- What's new with Centricity) where someone asked about this feature being a setting that we can control. Does anyone know where we can change this?
We would prefer the providers don't have to do this matching. Any help would be appreciated.
Thank you!
We haven't upgraded yet but I believe they said it is a security setting. You would take away the security to see unmatched patients and give the security to your linklogic manager or who ever you want to work those.
This can't be changed to my knowledge, as this is what GE intended. What we have done is passed the responsibility on to the nurses. I have also built a report to track all pending erx/unmatched patients to ensure this process does not fall behind.
I don't think they have intentions of changing this anytime soon either. I joined the 12.3 webinar and this function hasn't changed in that version at least. Perhaps if we all keep submitting enhancement requests to get more control over refills they will eventually change it.
Thank you for your responses. I could have misunderstood the question that was posed during the session that I attended. I am hoping to find a way to do this though. We would like to take this one thing off of our providers. We are listening to their feedback on this upgrade and RX renewals take them longer so anything we can do to lighten their load would be good.
Thanks again!
Since I clear the link logic errors I gave myself access and set up a preference group to include all providers. I then clear the un-matched just from the Renewal tab.
How many providers do you have? We have between 85-100.
Jtlewis- I like the idea of the report-- we have given the responsibility to our nurses as well and I am wondering if we will fall behind. Chart reports?
It could be used there, but we actually automate ours using a different program to send 4 times daily to our nurse coordinators. That way if they see an area is falling behind, they can correct it then monitor the progress.
My understanding is that this is an option in security. You can give access to unmatched patients in rx refill ONLY to the staff who want to be able to work those.
I assume your providers have the permission to view unmatched patients.
We are going to give that permission only to our people who work link logic.
Yes, that is what I understood as well. This is what we want to do. We weren't sure where to find this setting.
I see "Access unmatched eRx renewals" under setup in administration. So far that is the closest setting I find. I just went through provider RX Renewal desktops and this isn't the most efficient way to handle this task.
Actually, I just tested this security and it is great to make sure the providers would not see these unmatched RX Renewal requests. Then there only remains the problem of routing them to someone other than the provider. For example we have a desktop for EHR assistance. Or preferably to get them to show in Linklogic. I don't know if that is something that can be done or not.

We would like to go in that direction also by making our LinkLogic Manager(s) handle the Unmatched Refills. The problems we have encountered are:
1. To create a group of all providers is rather tedious because you have to add them one at a time. BTW: we have hundreds of providers across the State of Nevada, scattered through many physical addresses/suites.
2. There does not seem to be a system-wide way of identifying the Unmatched Refills, like we were able to do in the past with Chart Reports > Inquiry and LinkLogic Errors directly.
We are still in our first month (actually first 2-3 weeks) since upgrading to CPS 12.2.2 from CPS 12.0.13. The providers are still getting used to using the new Rx Refill workflow and many are just ignoring the Unmatched Patients (as well as, ignoring the whole Rx Renewal section on the Chart Desktop).
We have the same struggle. It is very tedious to add the providers to a group one at a time. We have quite a few providers (85-100), including locums also spread out throughout Northern Arizona.
Our providers are also still getting used to the new process. Feedback hasn't been very positive. We would like to help in any way we can.
