Long ago (back in 2005) we had several Midmark ECG machines that interfaced to our Centricity EMR. They were discontinued not long after.
Fast forward a decade and we are now finding ourselves with a record request for a chart that includes an interfaced EKG report as well as the .car file which we can no longer open in our 9.8 environment.
Any suggestions on how to obtain just the viewer software? Midmark support told us we needed to find a distributor for the ECG machines....?
Any guidance would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks!
Midmark no longer makes a viewer for the newer versions of their EKG software. We have to install the interface software on any computer that needs to view those files. I still have a viewer from previous versions of Midmark that doesn't work on newer EKG's. I would be more than happy to share it with you. It is zipped with a size of 35MB. Feel free to contact me off-list and we can discuss a method of getting it to you. gary(at)ccfhs(dot)org
We have a program that converts CAR files over to PDF which you're welcome to try. It was built for Spirometry and may or not be the same as EKGs. I didn't write the Visual Basic, however, so you'd have to troubleshoot anything that doesn't work. Feel free to email me at [email protected]
wow, strong customer service... you go Midmark.
Did anyone have any luck with this? We are working on this now. We have 25,000 .car files we need to convert.
After doing some research on this very same issue, I got a reply, from Midmark, that they do NOT offer any type of batch conversion to do them all at once; however, I did learn that the third party conversion product that they have embedded in their software is from a company called AMYUNI. They claim to offer a solution that does batch conversions, but my disclaimer is that I/we have not gone beyond what I have gathered for info...yet!
Hope this helps,
Scott
Thank you. We will do some research on that. We also reached out to midmark, because the next phase of my project involves another system that has 125,000 of these files. Talk about a lot of work. We would pay them money to do it, but they still won't.
Checking to see if anyone ever made any progress or figured out how to handle .CAR files? We now find ourselves in a similar situation with Midmark .CAR files and no way to read them.
