I have a Doc in board collections right now who is looking for notification popups when someone cancels or misses their appointment. Is there any easy way in Centricity to set this up so the doc would be notified? I'm sure this is a simple task but I'm having an issue wrapping my head around the workflow. He doesn't want these patients slipping through the cracks.
Probably a first question is - do you have a system in place to mark the appointments as "no show"? Many next actions and workflows would hinge on that.
If not, then that would be the first step - to identify patients who did no show the appointment.
Yes, if someone cancels or no shows they are marked and they turn pink on our scheduling side.
In CPS administration, go to Schedule/Appointment cancel. on the appointment cancel types that you want to get notification on, such as No Show, make sure the HL7 Mapping has No Show as the option. The other 2 options are Cancelled and None.
For Cancelled and No Show, when the appt is cancelled, a document will be created in the patient's chart for that provider. The only draw back is if you have Schedule Resources, it doesn't do anything for those.
