Hello, I had several providers getting errors while trying to send electronic prescriptions.
Error: "The electronic prescription(s) could not be signed because: Novolog flexpen 100 unit/ml soln - Missing Drug ID". This happens with other drugs as well.
I am wondering it they are doing something wrong or if this is a break/fix issue.
We are currently using Centricity Practice Solution version 12.0.13.2593
I have experienced the same so if any one has the answer please share. I am guessing maybe an outdate medication ?
What we were told is that there has been a change in the medication. For example, I received a call just last week about the same issue. When I looked at the chart, the medication was added back in 2009 so we have been told to expire that medication and then add the medication back in using the reference list so the correct IDs, etc will be attached.

I believe this is the correct answer. If you look up Novolog you will see that the description has changed.
Here is the closest match in the current medications list:
NOVOLOG FLEXPEN 100 UNIT/ML SOPN (INSULIN ASPART)
Yes, this is correct, you will have to end the medication and look up the drug again using the reference list to add back into the chart. I would suggest not expiring the medication, but doing a change on the medication instead.
