Good Morning Everyone,
I am wondering if anyone is dealing with multiple doctors within your practice that are considered the Resp. Provider in registration. I know when it comes to documentation its crucial to have this field in registration correct. Is there a workflow that you use in order to change the Resp. Provider every time the patient meets with a different doctor? We are upgrading to Centricity 12.2 this quarter and hoping to find a possible solution to this issue.
Example: Patient X is in our office for hip arthritis, but while in the care of Provider 1 he mentioned that his hands are hurting. We have a hand specialists and Patient X will be meeting with Provider 2 to discuss treatment with his hands.
How do you handle this situation in your office?

For our multi-specialty clinic with >100 providers, we only put the PCP in the Responsible Provider field, otherwise, we leave it as [none] and add each of the referring providers to the Contact List instead.
