I have a question. Do any of you run multiple TIN/Tax IDs under one single database? We are creating an IDTF facility where our physician group is going to bill for the technical component because the hospital is so far away from the new clinic. Rather than credentialing and filing the paperwork for new "stand-alone" Radiology facility the providers are contracted and we are going to take care of the technical component. There is another company that is going to take care of the professional fees. Our billing group is hung up on thinking that we have to put the 8 contracted Radiologists in our EHR database because that is the TIN/Tax ID we will be using to bill. I have been out of the PM side for a long time so I want to know what other groups are doing with multiple TIN/tax IDs in one database.
Thank you.
Hello Ms. Stevens,
It is possible to bill out multiple Tax IDs/NPIs from different companies and the providers that are credentialed for those claims would need to be present in the database to be the responsible providers on the claim in the PM. If those providers are credentialed with TIN/NPI combinations you should have no problems filing claims as long as the responsible providers are entered in CPS.
Thank you
Thank you Annela. We can reconcile the monies when they come back from the insurance companies correct? I appreciate your response. I just have been focused on the Clinical side for the past 12 years and have gotten out of the PM side. I figured it was possible to house multiple companies, facilities, along with multiple TIN/NPIs in/under one database and then perform the reconciliation once the monies have come back into the database. Would it be a manual reconciliation? I would think that Centricity was capable of making this easier than a manual process. Again, Thank you.
Tara
You are quite welcome, yes you can certainly reconcile, by company and by provider. Most all reports will allow you to reconcile based on the following criteria:
1) Provider
2) Company
3) Facility
The Financial and A/R Reports folders will contain reports for you to be able to show where all dollars are allocated. You might take a look at the following reports:
1) Monthly/Daily Financial Summary
2) Monthly/Daily Deposit Summary
3) Any A/R report
Those can get you started, I hope your endeavor is successful! Please let me know if there is anything further I can help you with.
