We have hired a new IT manager and due to health reasons our previous IT manager is not able to train the new hiree. Does anyone know if there is any CPS training available? He will need to learn basics such as how to install CPS on new computers and anything else someone new to Centricity would need to learn. You can also email me your answers at [email protected]
Thank you!
Have the new guy come in here and ask questions when needed, probably your best bet.
To install Centricity on a computer in IE open http://jbossservername:9080/centricityps/cps
which is the default ( fill out your own server name) and click the install link.
Thanks, I'll pass the message along to the new hiree
The GE documentation is actually pretty helpful at times so I would suggest downloading all if it from GE.
I agree with Joshua Tilson, the CHUG forum will be a great resource for he/she to use. There are too many aspects of CPS that are "you just have to know it" for someone to support themselves on documentation alone. The current product is a lasagna of years and years worth of application history that can still play a part in what your support staff will run into.
Hayes also offers a great training. The training series is remote and is on your database. It's called “The Life of a Visit Training” and it follows the patient billing from scheduling all the way through the system to collections. I’ve got plenty of CHUG references that have went through this training if you want to check them out.

Sam, your description is brilliant "The current product is a lasagna of years and years worth of application history that can still play a part in what your support staff will run into."
GE has a nice online pre-recorded training videos and learning guides on the community but you need a signon to access them. It's easy to sign up.
