Some of our providers want to know if there is a way to 'automatically' flag their scheduler when they order a study. At this time, they create an order in Centricity EMR, print the order for the patient, and then they walk the patient to the scheduler and explain to the scheduler what they've ordered. I think what they really want is a way to route the order to their scheduler's desktop without have to print. Is anyone doing this?
orders with disposition 'Admin Hold' will send a flag to an order administrator set up in the system.
Yes ---- you can setup an order default, which will auto-generate a flag to alert the order administrator.
We don't use the order administrator. We attach a flag to the order and route it to the scheduler. When the scheduler opens the flag, they can see the attached order.
You can set up order admins but only one per type of order i.e. test order, referral order etc. it is done in administration, codes, charts under order defaults. We created a generic user Precert or Scheduler for all the flags to go to then any of the staff can forward to their name to work.
