We have PMP installed as of this week. I was informed by our VAR that only Providers have access to request the medication report but on the webinar that just took place, Don with Virence stated that the Nursing staff can request these reports.
Has anyone integrated PMP and if so , how do I assign access for our clinical staff to perform these requests since our MD's have their support staff normally do this.
Thanks
Your VAR was correct. Only providers have access to the PMP button. There is a role for delegate access in EMR, but it doesn't work. Below is the response that I got from an engineer at Appriss.
Delegates are only permitted to access PMP data via the state web portal but not through the API. The logic behind the decision is as follows.
When the provider logs in to the patient chart at that time they are required (in some states) to review the report. If they are already in the patients chart there is no need for a nurse or other delegate to click the “button” to access the data. This a requirement set by the NABP through PMPI (hub) to all of the PMP databases.
What about residents? We are a residency program and our residents do not have individual DEA#'s. Is there a way for them to use PDMP from within the chart on their patients?
