Can anyone assist in how to merge two charts for a patient?
Thanks!
First, make sure there are no unsigned or on hold documents in either chart. From registration, find the one account you want to merge with the second account. Once you searched for the account, click on Merge, which is to the right of New and Delete. Now you have a screen with two sections. The first account is on the left, click into the search field on the right and search for the second account. Once you have that, click Merge. You can call me at 602-406-6314 if you have any questions.
Sibylle you're awesome! I'm on a conference call right now... I'm in the Patient Registration... however, I'm not seeing Merge, New or Delete...
You have to be in the Registration Module not the actual patients registration. Maybe that is why you are not seeing the Merge, Delete, New options??
Speaking of merging patients....has anyone noticed the record that was obsoleted during the merge is still showing "active" in the chart module? When I say still "active", I have noticed that sometimes after I have merged charts, if I do a date of birth look up in the chart module, the obsolete record shows even though I am looking just for Active patients. What I have been doing when I see this I go into the chart, click the Registration link there, change the Status to Inactive, Save it and then go back and change the status back to Obsolete, Save and exit. When I do another dob search at that point, the obsolete record no longer shows. I reported this to GE months ago but never received a resolution. I've tried to see if I could find a pattern between when this happens and when it doesn't but haven't had much success. At one point I thought it might be related to having opened the chart to check for unsigned documents so I started waiting a few minutes before doing the actual merge but that didn't seem to make a difference.
