At one of our satellite clinics they have a Dell B2360DN printer. When they print Prescriptions at this office it does not print the Signature Line.
Perhaps everyone else already knew this, but I just recently learned (because of this issue) that for security reasons the "Signature line" is really very small text that says THIS-IS-AN-ORIGINAL-PRESCRIPTION, but to the casual observer it simply looks like a line for the Signature to go on.
All our other offices and printers handle this just fine, but at this one clinic it does not print this line.
Has anyone else seen this issue? Is it simply a matter that that particular printer and it's driver are not capable of printing the very small text? It is a decent 1200 by 1200 dpi printer so I would have expected it to be able to handle it.
Thoughts?
I would verify the driver on the printer is really appropriate for the model of printer and not a generic HP style driver. If they have access to Crystal, I would also try loading the appropriate Crystal Report up and seeing if it prints correctly outside the EMR.
Thanks David for the information.
It was quite a while ago that I set up the printer driver, but I am pretty sure it was from a disk that came with the printer. But I will double check.
They do not have Crystal to do that test.
Thanks again,
Mike
