I created a letter in Centricity EMR 9.5. But I cannot make it to print in Landscape mode.
I am not sure if there is an easy way to print in Landscape. I don't see any option anywhere.
Someone suggested that he had seen that in other applications using certain print commands they were able to force the printer to print in landscape. Anyone knowledgeable about this please help. Thank you in advance.
typically on your print server, or locally if that is where your printer is installed, you can change the settings of the printer to print in landscape mode.
you can even install a second copy of the printer where as an admin you have changed all print option to default to landscape.
Depends on how you are installing and deploying printers and what version of server / workstation you are using.
Hi Joshua,
Thank you for your reply.
Even though the printer settings (of a local printer) was changed to Landscape, it still was printing in Portrait mode. Any other suggestions you know of?
there are usually ( on our printers and our environment) 2 places you have to make that change.
Go to printer properties.
On the general tab click Preferences
For me on this page I can set portrait / landscape and other options.
Click apply and ok
In the printers properties box goto Advanced
Click Printing Defaults
Set portrait / landscape here as well
If you are an admin, this printer should now be defaulting to portrait.
Hi Joshua,
Thank you again for your reply.
From the General tab of the Printer, in the Printing Preferences, Layout has already been set to Landscape. I believe GE may have set the Letter to print in only Portrait mode and it has to be overridden somehow (that's what I don't know how to).
If you find something, please let me know.
BAJ
Baj, did you check the setting sunder advanced tab? I know that in my experience if you set it in only 1 place it does not work all the time.
As for GE overrides, I do not know, as I hardly use CPS at all!
good luck!
Hi Joshua,
So, we have to set it in both places? My Advanced tab is grayed out. I will ask someone from IT to change it. I will let you know the outcome. Thank you very much.
BAJ
Baj, yes, in my experience you do. Ask IT to set up a copy of the printer where each location defaults to Landscape. It should only take minute to do it.
