We use Citrix for all of our users to connect to Centricity, so all thin clients. On occasion we have to delete a user's profile on the share that hosts all of the Citrix profiles, or usually after a large Centricity upgrade, we have to delete everyone's user profile from the Citrix share. These user profiles contain the default printers for Centricity, for such things like the auto-prints of things. So every time we have to delete a user's Citrix profile, they have to go through the whole process of selecting a default printer again, which after an upgrade can be problematic as most of our users cannot remember how to do this.
Is there a way to keep these printer settings when deleting the Citrix user profiles?
This is not the Options -> Printers within Centricity, but rather affects things like the auto-printing of Orders when the Chart Note is signed, with the option to sign Clinical List changes selected.
We are terminal servers and have the same issue. Printers jump around so much it is crazy.
We also see this "Jumping Printers" issue with CEMR 9.8.11_3 in thin client.
Carol, did you open an SR with GE for this? We have SR#1-857058749 open. If you also have an SR, then perhaps whoever is working your ticket at GE should consult with the engineers working on ours?
It might be worth investing in a UEM solution which improves printing and profile management in Citrix. http://www.brianmadden.com/blogs/rubenspruijt/archive/2012/01/23/user-environment-management-smackdown-head-to-head-analysis-of-appsense-citrix-immidio-liquidware-labs-microsoft-quest-res-scense-tricerat-unidesk-and-vuem.aspx
