Hello!
We have 2 providers out of 40 that are asking why GE cannot prioritize the labs that need to be signed off by order in which the patient's next appointment with them is. The majority of our lab reports come in via an interface from EMR-Link. Has anyone been able to do this? The only workflow we have come up with is manual. We can route the document to a Dummy desktop for a staff member to look up the patient's next appointment change the Summary to include the Appt date at the beginning and then route the document to the provider for signature. They can then click the Summary column and it will put them in order by next appt date.
Any help with this would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Rachel

Good Morning Rachel,
A report can be built for you to do this, or a small add-on interface the can be embedded into CPS can also be created, kind of like a Order's dashboard idea. Then you can have it routed to the providers directly from there, or even have them sign it off or review. if this is something you may be interested in, please contact me.
I can't see a benefit to that, but I'm not a doc.
If I were tasked with this, I'd first look at taking the HL7 message from EMR-Link, looking up the patient's next appt via SQL query, then prefix the value of the first OBR.4.2 with the appt date.
