Are your Providers having issues with finding problems in 9.8? Our providers are having a hard time finding problems that could easily find when we where on 9.5. Does anyone have a workaround?
Do they know about the Smart List? It basically auto completes. It helps a bit. I believe the new searching is an ICD-10 "enhancement" even if you're still using ICD-9. We've definitely complained about this issue (even with using the Smart List).
Yes, even the Smart List they are struggling. One of my providers could not find Prolactinoma.
The biggest complaint we are receiving after the 9.8 upgrade is the problem list, even more so then the slowness and crashing (which we have a lot of as well). It seems like GE has no plans on really fixing the look up. As a work around we've tried to offer additional custom lists (which puts a strain on our IT resources) but even those are subpar in 9.8 - the drop down limits itself to 5 problems with no additional scroll option. Where this shows up is with an ophthalmology clinic we have - many problems begin with "Corneal" so they only get to see the first 5 Corneal "X" problems; to see the others they need to begin typing the second word.
The "first 5 only" issue with Problem Custom Lists is very frustrating. We have trained our users to: (1) choose a Problem Custom List; (2) after clicking in the "search for" box, press the down arrow instead of typing. This will allow the user to scroll through the entire list. I'm not trying to present this as a good solution...but it can many times be easier than searching.
