Hello CHUG community!! What do you think of this idea? Instead of using Orders for Referrals....we are thinking of doing it all through VFE instead. There is such an array of OBS terms available to track details the Orders Module can not accommodate.
I see some custom OBS terms in the dictionary from GE. Is anyone currently doing this? How is it working for you?

We were having an issue with tracking as well and ended up purchasing the Referral Dashboard from medcode365.com. The owner is Arnold Cantu, a fellow forum user and he is very active with adding new enhancements for the product. Give it a look over, I am sure you will find that it will do what you are looking for and if it doesn't, contact Arnold and see if it is something he can add, it most likely is.

VFE can utilize all of its functionality to make for easier order entry (dropdowns, etc...) and then still use the MEL to Add-Order.
One other thought - the Orders table is a lot smaller than the Orders table, and thus inquiries and reports would be faster to execute.
Is the question for ease of entry, or ease of reporting?

I guess I would need to know why you are wanting to not use the orders module before I could tell you my opinion of switching to Obs terms. I know that our clinic has from time to time used the system in an unintended way, and while it occasionally is a great solution, it often comes back to bite us at a later time. What about the Orders Module is giving you a hard time?
