I am interested if anyone has approached GE yet about this requirement that goes into effect January 1, 2018. This is requiring that ordering providers consult "appropriate use criteria - AUC" via electronic CDS when ordering outpatient advanced imaging exams for Medicare patients. It will be on the vendor side to show how ordering providers will demonstrate that they consulted AUC through an approved electronic mechanism and how they will document this to send with the orders.

I have heard that GE EMR 9.12 will have integration with NCDS. Not sure how they would trigger the clinical decision support without adding an additional criteria checkbox when building orders out in GE.
NCDS also has a no-cost, stand-alone web interface product.
GE didn't seem to know what I was talking about when I asked them about this at C-Live. Doesn't look like the feature is making it into 9.12...
