How can I remove an order in CPS12.3.1? When I highlight the order and click remove nothing happens.. Any thoughts?
Thanks, Jude
Hi Jude,
I am not sure if you are trying to remove an order from a note in the patient's chart, the Orders section of a patient's chart, or the Orders setup in Administration. Could you please clarify your steps for us?
Thank you,
Daniel C.
Daniel,
I am trying to remove a signed order from a chart (signed). The office visit is already signed.. The provider entered the wrong code and signed it. I am not sure how to just remove this particular clinical list charge without filing the whole office visit in error.
Thanks, Jude
Thank you, that helps a ton.
So the orders tab keeps track of what was signed in a note, and the only way to remove a signed order is to file the note in error. We have things like this happen now and then as well, and we work with billing to remove the code on their end, so that it is not billed for.
Unless someone has built a tool that addresses this issue, then the order will not come out. We do not run any audits of that order table, and only use it as a tool to see what has been ordered that is not complete yet. Otherwise, if an order is complete, you can look at the documentation to see if it matches.
I do suggest appending the note, and having the provider mention that the order was a mistake, so that there is no confusion down the road.
Thank you,
Daniel C.
My response would be exactly as Daniel described. It is important for their to be documentation about the order error from a clinical perspective. During the append you could add the correct order as well.
