Is anyone able to save selected documents from the patient chart to a CD or flash drive? I was told that the best option is to save to a PDF writer. I'm not aware of how to do either. Anyone have experience with this?
From a patient's chart, click on Actions > Generate Chart Summary. For Export Destination, browse to the preferred drive (CD or flash). I don't believe you can export to a PDF file because the file is meant to be re-imported into another facility's Centricity system.
Thanks for the instructions! However I was looking to see if you could select specific documents and save them to disk rather than just the chart summary. But I appreciate the information.
OK…select the documents you want, click Actions > Print…, select your PDF utility under Printer, and click Print. This should ask for the drive to store the .PDF file onto.
Most Excellent Fargo! I tried it out and it works great. Thanks for your help
Word to the wise, remember to password protect the files once they are on the drive. 🙂

We've used PDFCreator, which you can automate to do somethings, and drop in a given directory. Handy tool

When following this workflow each document is saved to a separate PDF. is there a way for the chart documents to be saved into 1 pdf?

With PDFCreator you can use the Wait – Collect option to have multiple pages / documents printed into one PDF file.
