When our med records or referral department scans in a document from an outside source, they attach it to the patients chart as a PDF form. Then when a provider has to sign the document they click 'open attachment', print the document, sign the document, have their nurse scan it in, then the nurse faxes it to the facility.
We'd like to simplify this process by having our providers electronically sign the PDF's. However, when doing this, adobe reader is having us save a copy and doesn't link the signed document back to CPS.
Has anyone come up with a more simple way to do this? Are you using adobe reader or are you using another program that has simplified this process for you?
Thanks,
Anastaisha
Hi Dana,
You can do this buy getting the path of the PDF, and opening it up directly. Then electronically signing it using a PDF writer such as Adobe Pro. Then you just click save. It save to the original path where the attachment is located.
Do you use Biscom/Faxcom? We attach the signature using Faxcom and then send the document back without ever printing.
Can you explain this in more detail? We use Biscom as well and am very interested in how this workflow actually works.

Attached are the 2 workflow documents which describe the process. Would be happy to discuss if you have any further questions.
