Question for everyone that is using TS with RemoteApp for centricity deployment. Have you had issues were Centricity will freeze if you have to many schedules opened? If so, were you able to find a fix for this?
No, but have had issues with it freezing on a local pc when trying to scan photos into the registration. CPS 10 has issues.
We also have experienced the freezing when scanning photos into the application. It has been reported to GE. Do you have a resolution for this problem?
I have a somewhat related question. How should the CPS 9.5 be setup for RemoteApp: I'm not quite clear what executable needs to be published on the RDS Server.
Thanks,
Nitin
Easiest way to do it is if it is already installed, when you go to create a new remote app, browse when you get to the list of all the files and find the icon on the desktop. Choose it and then walk the rest of the way through it.
Once that is done, just publish the rdp file and you are good to go.
Sorry ErnieT that is not how it will work with RemoteApp…
For RemoteApp, you have to select the internet explorer to run. If the server is a 64 bit server, you must select the 32 bit internet explorer found in the Program Files (x84) folder. Then you have to set the default homepage to the Centricity URL. This way when RemoteApp runs the internet explorer, it opens up the Centricity startup page to load Centricity.
Feel free to email me at [email protected] if you need help.
Nitin, we current just restart the computer then we are back up and running, I am doing some more research on this. What type of camera are you using?
Really?
That is how we have published ours out without any issues whatsoever. If when you select the centricity shortcut and IE is the default browser, it has worked.
What is your server version?
2008 R2
Okay, R2, they fixed that issue, for non-R2 I had to go the route I posted.
Ah. That would explain it. Thanks for clearing that up.
Thanks, Acantu. I tried publishing the IE executable, and had setup the CPS url for the hompage and it worked right away. Our Terminal Server is Win 2008 only, and I had realized that it still had IE 7 on it. When I updated it to IE9, RemoteApp using IE worked great. We're planning on upgrading our terminal server to 2008 R2. Do you think setting it up using ErnieT's method would be an advantage?
Nitin
Yes, unless you create a group policy to set the default homepage to the Centricity Startup, otherwise you have to do it individual for each user that uses RemoteApp.
Yeah. That's what I found out when launching the CPS RemoteApp with another user. Hopefully things will perform better with R2. The windows on the client for CPS RemoteApp are kind of clunky. The refresh is a little slow, and some of the pages (especially the login page) aren't drawn all the way.

Make sure you have the latest updates and you configure RemoteApp setting correct to get the correct colors.
