Looking to see if anyone knows of a way to track the patient visit approval on the initial approval in Centricity CPS 12, we are on Client Version: 12.0.10.2061. I opened a case with GE, but they had no solution for us. GE suggested I ask other users if they have any thoughts. I tried the activity log table, but it only records an entry there if its a re-approval.
We need to be able to measure productivity of our charge entry staff in a seamless process. It is difficult to determine if Employee A is approving 20 tickets compared to Employee B who might be approving 70 tickets in same time frame. Without this measurement, we’re relying on manual processes to determine efficiency and provide proper staffing levels. (ie Are we approving less tickets on a daily basis than we are creating?).
Any thoughts or help would be appreciated. Thanks.

This was GE's response:
I checked around and no one has heard of a way to track the user/date of the original approval on a visit. I think the re-approval is logged to the activity log for troubleshooting purposes so you know that the visit went through the approval process more than once, but I guess they didn’t see a need to log the original one because if the visit is approved and you don’t have a re-approval on the log you know it only was approved once. I suspect they weren’t thinking that folks would need to track that. I checked in the tables, and in the PatientVisit table there is an ApprovalResults field, but that just shows what the results of the approval process was, not who approved it or when.
We are on CPS 12.0.13 and have just implemented Encoda. It can be integrated with CPS and it provides much better tracking and management than CPS. It is awesome and we absolutely love it!
