We are currently on 9.8.3. & testing 9.8.4. As many others, we have been diligently logging issues with the product & training workarounds, etc.
Regarding the new HTML Medication Administration forms in 9.8 my question is this - is there any reason why we have to use these forms if we already have a process in place (custom encounter forms & adding to med list). From a MU2 perspective, we are compliant, however, am concerned about the what the reporting components within the product are looking for.
I have not been able to get an answer yet from GE or consultants if this new form feeds any of the MU reports.
Wondering what everyone else is doing. We found significant problems during our testing, so hoping to avoid this form altogether.
Any feedback appreciated!

This form is not needed to meet MU. We are not using it at Baylor Dallas.
We use our custom Medication Administration Form, to implement this new HTML for would require extensive set up ( about 80 hours for our business needs) then retrainging of 680 medical assistance.
We have opted to defer until it is mandatory to meet a metric.

I agree with the set up time; however, it looks like once it is fully set up and all the lot numbers, NDC's, routes, dosages, etc. are set up, it will speed up the medication admin process. We just haven't had time to go through all of our medication inventory (IV, IM, oral, and topical) and set this up. I'm not sure why there isn't a way to easily grab what we already have set up from the orders to do this.
