We use Centricity EMR 9.8.10 and CPS 12.0.10. Charting is all done in EMR, has anyone used UpDox with the Centricity application? They say they support it.
We wanted to switch all of our incoming and outgoing faxing to Biscom, currently it just handles outbound. They sent me a quote for $20,000 to implement both inbound and outbound.
hmmm... do you have a fax card already? and do you have Faxcom CV?
We have the Faxcom CV not CV+. It's an ancient 2 line card in a server. We are looking to switch over about 20 lines for inbound/outbound.
oh, you are looking for a major upgrade, that is why the cost is so much, you can change the 2 line to one recv and one out going but i do understand.
Yeah, so done with paper faxes all over the place. This year it's our main focus to get things like this implemented. I think that's why I was wondering about UpDox because it's a cloud based service for faxing made for the medical industry with integration in most major EMR systems. Might be cheaper and more cost effective than Biscom.
makes sense, i have not used it, and wonder how they implement to CPS? maybe a fax printer i would assume?
I have seen it used in one other office and it's a fax printer that connects over HTTPS and submits the faxes there to your portal. There are all of your routing rules set up in the admin console. I believe all incoming faxes go to a web based inbox. That may be our biggest issue considering right now all incoming faxes go to a network folder for DocuTrak to pick up and be imported. If we have to download a million PDF's all day then it's not worth it. If there is some way for those to be auto downloaded every so often though, then it might be worth it.
I have a program i use called SyncBack pro that will allow you to sync files from FTP or anywhere to anywhere you want it to go, sync or move, you might want to check it out if you do go that route.
