Several of our CPS databases have massive amounts of
attachments (images) stored in Centricity.
We recently came across the ability to create a secondary database file & file group. We were able to test moving a table (e.g. PatientProfileAttachments) to the new FileGroup which stores the data in the separate file (located where ever we want). We did this on the demo database and were able to access, create and delete attachments.
Has anyone else tried this or have any thoughts/suggestions? I'm guessing we may have to relocate it each time we upgrade the database.
I also posted this under the SQL forum topic but got no response.
