Has anyone ever used the Sensitive Chart feature in CPS? We have a number of providers (plastic surgeons, Patient Home- or Nursing Home-visits) that see some VIP-like patients, wanting to keep their clinical records private. GE suggested having a special Location of Care that only these providers would have access to, but that buts some undue pressure on the Medical Assistants to know when to use this LoC.
We have tried looking at the Sensitive Chart checkbox in Registration, but because our patient demographics are fed by another system, no one has access to edit the Registration information and it would be too cumbersome for an IT person to be at-the-ready each time a clinic would be seeing a VIP-patient. By the look of it, the user/provider would have to manually add the user who should NOT access this chart which could be everyone except himself and his MA, plus billing people to look at the chart for billing purposes. This seem excessively difficult for a provider or designee to be responsible for setting access on a per-patient basis.
Anyone had any success or Tips/Tricks on how to make this functionality work without creating a whole new time-consuming workflow? I put in a Service Request to GE, looking for some kind of users manual or guide to instruct our clinic on how to use this, but they directed me to the CHUG site to check with other users.
Any information that you may have would be welcome.
