We are about to update our test environment with either SP8 or SP9. Does anyone have advice about which to choose at this point? Thanks, Harriett Burns, Piedmont Health Services, NC
We are also trying to decide which SP to go with. Any insight would be appreciated. 🙂

After applying SP8 (for CPS) a few weeks ago along with Cumulative Patch 2 shortly after and now Patch 3 over the weekend to many practices, I would **highly** recommend getting on SP8 now with Cumulative Patch 3 unless you are specifically waiting on an SPR only addressed in SP9.
Then when the patch to SP9 comes out that rolls previous patches up into SP9, then I would go on SP9 with the patch.
Maurice,
Are you saying that SP9 will not include the Cumulative Patch 2/3?
I was told "not at first" but it will come out very shortly in some type of SP9 Patch 1 which will rollup all the very recently patches to SP8. Just something to be aware from a planning perspective although very easy to apply client side patches at this point.
We have SP 9 in our testing environment and are planning our production upgrade in a couple weeks to SP 9. The Cumulative patch for 9 should be out in a couple weeks and it doesn't require installs on all of the pcs so we are going 9 and then will apply the patch as soon as we get it that way we get the all of the latest updates.
Holly, that really sounds like a solid plan overall and I just wanted to point out the short period of time that Patch 2 and Patch 3 of SP8 would be available as it relates to timing of going with SP9 and waiting on it's roll-up patch.
Any word on MSI deployment yet?

Hi Mike,
I asked our Account Manager about MSI deployment when SP8 was released. She told me that this functionality would be available in CPS 12.2. I did not receive an ETA on when 12.2 would be available.
