anyone have a frax calculation form?
thanks
As of a year ago, the FRAX calculation was still a closely guarded secret and required a license fee paid to the University of Sheffield, England to utilize electronically (it is free to use on their website, however).
Once registered and licensed, it is possible to create an external application that connects with the web service based in Sheffield for a real time calculation. It was fairly quick with the average turnaround being less than 2 seconds.
Alternatively, it was reported that they were working on an interface for their locally installed database version which removes the need to 'phone home' (I am uncertain if they completed that work at this time).
You might want to contact them and see which option works best for your practice.

Interestingly, I found that GE has an interface with their DXA systems, so it might be worth pursuing through them to see if they can make it available for the EMR too.
