I remember that Practice Solution version 9 or 10 had a feature where admins could view how long each user was logged into a particular session and remotely log them out if needed. How does one do this with Practice Solutions 12? Thank you in advance.
thank you. any help would be greatly appreciated.
This may help, it will log the user out of their Citrix session completely.
That would be a really cool addition to "CPS Essentials"

Pardon my complete ignorance on this subject, but I don't think we use Citrix to log in remotely. Each computer has a remote desktop connection icon we click to connect to the remote server where we access the Centricty EMR. The target pathway for the remote desktop icon is: "C:\Program Files (x86)\Centricity Direct\FastTrak.exe" if that helps.
This program will actually allow you to logout people from CPS, it wont log them out actually, but it will make CPS think they are, so your user count will be changed. so for instance, if you are maxed out, you can run the application and it will allow others to log in. Or if CPS crashed, and it still says someone is logged in, you can reset that.

Acantu, that will be great!
That would be great for us too, acantu! Thanks for the fast response
You use terminal servers? This is super easy with Windows 2008. They added some complexity in Windows 2012.
In Windows 2008, open Administrative Tools > Remote Desktop Services > Remote Desktop Services Manager. Once that opens, I suggest creating a group containing all of your RDS servers. This lets you see all logged in users across all of your servers.
Click on the user column to sort by username. Find the account in question, right click, and choose "Log Off".
With Server 2012, I think you need to connect to the server hosting the broker service. I can't test that at the moment however. Otherwise it should be similar.

acantu, Cool App.
We do not use terminal servers locally. We use a cloud based service with Quatris that remotely connects to their servers. So I'm assuming that we cannot remotely log out individual users unless we have access to the terminal server?
@smandyam, you typically lose some administrative control in a hosted environment. Some people want this, others don't.
You may still be able to manage TS users. It really depends on how your environment is set up. It's possible to have a designated user with permission to manage terminal server sessions. You'll have to discuss that with Quatris.
