Basically, its an interface that allows CPS to open the chart of the patient calling our call center. Our phone system is compliant with it but is CPS? I asked GE customer support and they have never heard of it. I'm thinking not out of the box but perhaps someone has built something?
I have never heard of it having any type of TAPI interface.
I have written applications that, based on the screen you currently on (makes sure you are not in an update or another window), sends the keystrokes to search for and load a patients chart using AutoIT.
I did a quick google search and found a few TAPI examples in AutoIT, if you were to combine that with a script that grabbed the caller id via TAPI and searched the database for the patient before sending the keystrokes, I think you could accomplish this yourself.
That could be a HIPAA problem if the CallerID is spoofed. It is pretty easy to do that but you could have some kind of authentication in the call to verify identity. AutoIT is great! I didn't know it had TAPI capabilities though.
