Good afternoon, recently, as I have needed to find obsterms, there are times that I am trying to find an obsterms for a lab result(s) and I find one but the type may be Text and my result is numeric or the type is numeric but the units don't match what our reference lab is sending. My question is, should I be concerned if current mapped results don't match the correct type and/or unit type?
Thanks,
Linda
All data in obs terms are strings. You may restrict the data entry by masks, but the data remains strings. You can put anything you want in the strings.
I asked a similar question a while back.

There is a way to have labs convert to the proper unit of measure on the way in. I have attached the document mentioned in the post.
