Good morning, just had a call from an office inquiring if there is a possibility of flags being deleted without the user actually deleting them. The provider in question had a flag about a particular patient and the nurse found the flag had been removed. The provider swears up and down she wouldn't have deleted the flag.
Has anyone experienced flags being deleted by the system? I thought about an expiration date being used, but that's hard to say since all deleted flags show an expiration date.
We are on CPS 12.0.11.
Thanks!
Linda
Hi Linda, yes, if someone has the privileges to see others flags, they can delete them (remove), you can check the database as well, in the Flags table.
In 9.8.10 for the Oracle version GE introduced new functionality that suppressed flags older than 1 year from the EMR. Not sure when/if that was introduced in CPS but if you can't find the flag on the front end but see it in the flags table check how old it is.
GE released a script to fix that too but I don't have it; your GE rep should be able to get it to you along with the instructions to implement the change. (We ended up liking the change, even if it was a surprise at first).
Is there a way to tell who removed the flag? I don't find any type of an report in the EMR for this. The flag just shows the Expire date according to the date the flag was removed. Is it listed in the Flag Table?
Thanks
