Job Description:
The Business Analyst uses their project management skills, application subject matter expertise, and leadership abilities to support and enhance the clinical and business software applications throughout the entire organization. They will work collaboratively with all business units on optimizing, enhancing and upgrading their systems for the most efficient and effective use. They will engage with the quality team and providers to incorporate regulatory and patient safety measures into the systems to improve outcomes and act as liaison between technical personnel and non-technical personnel.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain a high level of subject matter expertise in functional areas and the applications in order to bridge business requirements and IT solutions.
- Conduct impact analysis of technology changes and software upgrades on business processes and recommend strategies to minimize risks or enhance opportunities of these changes.
- Effectively manage projects, primarily related to software applications, keeping them within required schedule, scope and budget.
- Provide application training to a wide range of audiences using a variety of training styles from classroom to one-on-one.
- Provide onsite/remote application support and instruction to users for daily issues as well as post upgrades or implementations.
- Assist in the development of new content, user workflows and interface design specifications.
- Assist functional leaders in analyzing, vetting and selecting new software applications to support current or future initiatives and goals.
- Implement new software throughout all areas of the organization and roll out current software programs in areas that have not yet been implemented.
- Develop functional test plans and scenarios for system upgrades as well as new applications. Perform testing of application upgrades/releases and provide feedback to vendors on issues.
- Promote compliance with best practice solutions.
- Collaborate with end users and vendors to support the analysis of system defects or to develop requirements for new functionality.
- Create and maintain documentation for end users and IS department operational documentation
- Provide off-hours “on-call” applications support on a rotating basis with the rest of the applications team.
- Advise IS leadership on industry standards, risks, opportunities or vendor product offerings, by monitoring industry publications and communications.
- Participate in committees or Ad Hoc groups as assigned.
- Perform other duties as assigned to meet the goals and objectives of the department and organization.
Requirements:
- Accomplished healthcare application analyst; able to interpret business unit needs and apply technological solutions. Able to discern when a technological solution is needed, or when a workflow change is more appropriate.
- Accomplished planner; able to accomplish goals while balancing several project priorities.
- Proficient project manager; able to lead successful projects at the highest level of the organization. PMP certification or other project management certification highly valued.
- Proficient trainer; able to provide effective training to all levels of the organization including classroom instruction, lunch-and-learns, videos, one-on-one, and written guides.
- Proficient facilitator; able to lead a variety of meetings, working sessions, or brainstorming sessions to successfully accomplish stated goals.
- Competent in LEAN methodologies to provide consistent approach to process improvement throughout the organization.
- Proficient in software tools like Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Visio, OneNote, Camtasia, Publisher.
- Proficiency in any of the following specific healthcare applications strongly preferred: Centricity EMR, CQIC forms, Visual Forms Editor, cSpeak voice recognition, Kryptiq Indexing Client, GE’s Secure Messaging and Patient Portal, Kryptiq eSM, Biscom Faxing, Evident Thrive, PICIS PulseCheck, Cederon Rehab EMR.
- Ability to write low to medium complexity reports is preferred.
- Understanding of quality programs like Meaningful Use, MIPS,MACRA, PCMH, etc. is preferred
