Michigan State University (MSU) is seeking an experienced IT professional to provide support to its Centricity EMR application. Assists the manager of the electronic medical records with assessment, planning, design, and implementation of Centricity EMR and its associated integrated applications into clinical workflows for the MSU HealthTeam clinic practices; provides, ongoing education and support for 30+ clinics and 600+ users on a daily basis (answering questions, providing independent diagnostic technical support, problem solving, developing documentation tools, developing and delivering training presentations, optimizing workflows using Centricity EMR); monitoring and maintaining database, resolving database errors, and performing audits; leading components of projects within the unit; independently working with customers to analyze problems or needs and developing solutions within the technical area to solve problems.
Requirements
Minimum Requirements: Knowledge normally acquired in the first two or three years of college, technical, vocational, or business school such as an associate's degree in a related field; one year of related and progressively more responsible or expansive work experience with Centricity EMR/Centricity Business in a hospital or physician group practice; experience with clinical documentation, clinical workflows and training/implementing new installations; experience in developing and delivering technical training programs in a clinical environment; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Desired Requirements: Degree in computer technology, nursing, or information technology; one to three years experience implementing electronic medical records or clinical practice management in hospitals or physician group practices; demonstrated positive customer relationships; excellent communication and teaching skills; ability to analyze and problem solve hardware/software issues; experience with clinical documentation, clinical workflows, and training/implementing new installations with physicians, nurses, and support staff; familiar with practice management/EMR interfaces; excellent communication skills; demonstrated experience in customer support; ability to guide users in individual and group settings for utilization of applications; ability to independently problem solve using critical thinking judgment skills with both clinicians and coworkers; working knowledge of Microsoft Word products, Hypersnap, Camtasia, or associated software.
