The Northern Minnesota Network (NMN) is a 501(c)(3) organization providing health information technology systems, resources and support to five member organizations, all Federally Qualified Health Centers providing primary medical, behavioral and oral health care services in MN, WI, IL and ND. The NMN office is located in Duluth, MN
The NMN seeks a Clinical Systems Support Specialist to fulfill the following responsibilities:
- Coordinates with Northern Minnesota Network and member health centers to analyze the information processing needs of the centers, devise solutions, and translate into efficient, effective and practical software applications.
- Plans and implements applications for the NMN health information technology system including, but not limited to EHR, DHR, E-prescribing, laboratory, radiology, documents management systems and other ancillary components as needed.
- Provides support to the clinical users through planning, testing, training, and troubleshooting software applications.
- Provides direct support to IT Leads for form and template development and utilization.
- Knowledge of SQL, Crystal Reports, HL7 and database administration
- Facilitates communication between all vendors for timely problem solution.
- Provides communication, implementation, maintenance and support of all health information technology applications.
- Have understanding of the needs and challenges for Practice Management (PM) team members
- Delivers accurate and timely communication for clinical users with outstanding and immediate questions.
- Collaborates with NMN project director, IT support staff, physicians, clinic managers, nurse managers, and other health care disciplines to assure that optimal clinical systems are implemented.
- Ability to manage multiple projects at the same time.
- Some overnight travel may be required. Qualifications include a minimum of Bachelor’s Degree in health information management, related computer science field, or applicable experience; exposure to and knowledge of clinics, hospitals, and clinical department operating requirements; awareness of how, when, and to what extent different clinic and hospital departments relate to and communicate; knowledge of GE centricity and the forms and templates required for reporting. Successful candidates must have the ability to work in a team-based environment and across multiple member sites.
This position is 40 hours per week and reports to the NMN Executive Director. Salary is commensurate with experience.
